Role & responsibilities
- Process payroll for employees on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, deductions and full and final settlement of resigned employees etc.
- Maintain employee payroll data accurately in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary or benefits, and timekeeping records.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal regulations and tax laws related to salary processing.
- Prepare and submit payroll taxes and reports accurately and on time.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner. Address employee queries regarding payroll matters professionally and promptly.
- Generate payroll reports as needed for management review, budgeting, and auditing purposes.
- Provide insights and analysis on payroll data as required.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records and files, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Continuously evaluate payroll processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement changes as approved.
Preferred candidate profile:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting, regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ready to work as an individual contributor.
Experience:
- 7 to 14 years of relevant experience and working as a payroll processor.
