Job Summary

Singapore General Hospital seeks an experienced Assistant Manager or Senior Assistant Manager (Staffing) to manage workforce planning, recruitment, and staffing operations, ensuring optimal staffing levels to support hospital functions and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage staffing requirements by collaborating with department heads and operational teams to identify staffing needs and gaps
  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle including job advertising, candidate shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding across multiple roles and departments
  • Monitor workforce metrics, turnover rates, and staffing trends to deliver data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with external recruitment agencies and vendors to source candidates for difficult-to-fill positions
  • Collaborate with Finance and other departments to manage staffing budgets effectively
  • Maintain accurate staffing records, documentation, and databases in compliance with hospital policies and regulations
  • Provide guidance and support to line managers on staffing-related issues, policy adherence, and best practices
  • Participate in workforce planning initiatives and contribute to developing staffing strategies aligned with hospital objectives
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labour laws, and hospital policies throughout staffing processes

Required competencies and certifications

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in staffing, recruitment, or human resources management
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment, workforce planning, and staff deployment
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, labour laws, and HR best practices
  • Proficiency in SuccessFactor and recruitment database systems
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff at all levels
  • Analytical skills to interpret workforce data and provide actionable insights

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Professional HR certification
  • Experience in healthcare HR operations or hospital staffing
