We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Engineering Manager with a strong focus on open-source technologies to lead our dynamic engineering team. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of our open-source initiatives, managing and mentoring engineers, and fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire a team of talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them excel in their roles.

Define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives, with a specific focus on open source technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to prioritize and deliver high-quality software solutions that leverage the power of open source.

Drive the adoption of open source technologies and best practices within the engineering organization, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, encouraging engineers to explore new ideas, experiment, and contribute to the open source community.

Establish and maintain engineering processes and standards, ensuring efficient development practices, code quality, and adherence to industry best practices.

Provide strategic guidance on technology selection, architecture, and design decisions, considering the benefits and challenges of open-source solutions.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or roadblocks, and take proactive measures to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that leverage open-source technologies effectively.

Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in open-source technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our products and engineering practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and guiding engineering teams.

Strong expertise in open-source technologies and a passion for leveraging their power to drive innovation.

Solid understanding of software development principles and best practices, including agile methodologies and modern engineering techniques.

Strong experience in programming languages such as (C#, GoLang, C++, Java)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.

Demonstrated experience in driving the adoption of open source technologies and fostering an open source culture within an organization.

Familiarity with open source licensing and compliance requirements.

Experience in managing and delivering complex software projects, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.

Previous experience with software development in a cloud environment is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Contributions to the open-source community or active participation in open-source projects.

Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies, such as containerization, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.

Experience working with distributed teams or in a remote work environment.
