About The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (MySQL & MariaDB) to manage and support mission-critical production database environments.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in MySQL, MariaDB, AWS RDS, and Amazon Aurora, along with deep experience in database optimization, production support, troubleshooting, and cloud database management.
This role demands strong ownership, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure production environments with strict SLAs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support MySQL & MariaDB production databases in high-availability environments.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Perform advanced query optimization, indexing, database tuning, and performance enhancement activities.
- Handle critical production incidents and troubleshoot complex database-related issues under tight SLAs.
- Configure and maintain replication, clustering, failover, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Manage database backup, restore, patching, migration, and upgrade activities.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using Shell or Python scripting.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, and Application Engineering teams.
- Participate in 24×5 rotational production support including night shifts.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on expertise in MySQL Administration
- Experience working with AWS RDS and Amazon Aurora
- Strong knowledge of MariaDB administration and optimization
- Expertise in query optimization and execution plan analysis
- Experience with replication, clustering, high availability, and failover strategies
- Strong Linux / Unix administration experience
- Experience handling production support and high-severity incidents
- Good understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
Good-to-Have Skills
- PostgreSQL Experience
- MongoDB / Redis Knowledge
- Terraform / CloudFormation Exposure
- CI/CD Integration Experience
- AWS Certifications
