A Day in your life at MKS:
A professional Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and
running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all functions associated with maintenance of SQL Server databases including security, back-up, reporting and recovery procedures
- Manage and troubleshoot the L3 tasks independently
- Should have a thorough knowledge of data security Setup and Configuration of High availability concepts like Replication, Mirroring and log shipping
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades
- Responsible for implementation and release of database
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Database security patch application.
- Troubleshooting DB Crash
- Rebuild Database due to Incident
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship.
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving database related issues.
- MS SQL SOPs Document maintain with update on time.
- Follow ITMS process for SNOW ticket.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8 -10 years of hands-on experience as a MS SQL Server DBA.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above) including SSMS, Agent Jobs, and SQL Profiler.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies using native tools or third-party solutions.
- Working knowledge of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Sentry, Redgate, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Proficient in T-SQL for scripting and automation.
- Familiar with Windows Server administration basics and Active Directory integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certification (e.g., MCSA / MCSE / Azure Data Engineer) is a plus.
- Good understanding of on-Prim and cloud-based SQL deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)
- Exposure to PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience working in a 24x7 production environment or on-call rotation.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in shifts and participate in on-call support as needed.
