Role & responsibilities
- oversees the definition of the future-state and current-state business requirement, and uses IT to identify and guide projects
- Leverages business capabilities as a platform for illustrating the link between business needs (as shown by capabilities) with decisions to their technology, solution and data applications
- Reviews business drivers and strategies, understands the implications to the application design, and identifies/mitigates risks to solutions.
- Leads analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the data landscape
- Ensures the effective translation of the security architecture is implemented into the solutions.
- Good knowledge of development and implementation best practices, policies & SPO
- Identify opportunities for Database infrastructure optimization and cost reduction.
- Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
- Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
- Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
- Manage, support and maintain Cloud database environment as well as MS SQL Server databases and infrastructure, adhering to the architectural guidelines and policies.
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms.
- Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention.
- Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs.
- Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Preferred candidate profile
- Proven hands-on DBA, data warehouse and Analytics platform experience
- Setting up and administering all aspects of SQL Server Database
- Proven working experience in Microsoft technologies
- Strong knowledge of AWS and Azure technologies, distribute, heterogenous and complex application and database landscape
- Prior knowledge of large scale data warehouse implementation and migration experience, especially to cloud.
- Experience in designing and developing enterprise grade data platforms and applications.
- Excellent knowledge of Relational and non-relational Databases
- Experience in Data Migration, Disaster Recovery, Integration Services, Performance Tuning, Reporting Services, Database Upgrades patches, Backup and Recovery, Database Security and High Availability Solutions
- Exposure to BPO industry will have an added advantage.
- Very good understanding of Enterprise level data landscape and architecture and ability to understand complex mix of various tools, technologies, solutions and inter-relations between them.
- Very good technical design and documentation skills
