Job Description: Senior Content Editor – Politics, International Affairs & Geopolitics
The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable handling breaking developments, writing in-depth feature articles, and creating insightful explainers that help readers understand the significance of global events.
Key Responsibilities
- Cover and analyse political, diplomatic and international developments with a strong focus on geopolitics.
- Write high-quality news stories, feature articles, explainers and analytical pieces on current affairs.
- Identify emerging global trends and assess their relevance for Indian readers and competitive exam aspirants.
- Develop engaging, research-backed content that is accurate, balanced and easy to understand.
- Work closely with the editorial team to plan and execute timely coverage of major national and international developments.
- Ensure editorial accuracy, factual integrity and adherence to newsroom standards.
- Mentor junior team members, provide editorial guidance and contribute to content planning and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, International Relations or a related discipline.
- 4–5 years of editorial experience in a reputed digital newsroom (mandatory).
- Proven experience covering political and international news.
- Strong understanding of global affairs, diplomacy, foreign policy and contemporary geopolitical developments.
- Demonstrated ability to write compelling feature articles, explainers and analytical content.
- Excellent research, communication and editorial skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the current affairs requirements of competitive examinations such as UPSC, SSC and other government recruitment exams will be an added advantage, though not mandatory.
- Understanding of digital publishing best practices, SEO and audience engagement is desirable.
