Role Description
The incumbent will serve as a Senior/Lead BI Developer, dedicated to transforming data assets into actionable insights primarily using the ThoughtSpot platform. This role involves both front-end visualization excellence and robust back-end data preparation.
Key Expectations Include:
- ThoughtSpot Mastery & Deliverables:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-impact ThoughtSpot Liveboards, Answers, and SpotIQ analysis.
- Perform data modelling and schema design specifically for ThoughtSpot, ensuring optimal performance for self-service analytics.
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and user permissions at the worksheet/data level within the platform to maintain data governance.
- Data Prep, ETL, & Querying:
- Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries for data manipulation, validation, and extraction from data sources like Snowflake and AWS Redshift.
- Design and implement ETL/data preparation processes using tools like Alteryx, DBT, or Python scripts to cleanse and structure raw datasets for BI readiness.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL, cloud platforms, SharePoint) and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage directly with clients and business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate complex business logic into effective BI solutions.
Requirements:
- Primary BI Focus: Mandatory expertise in ThoughtSpot (Liveboards, Worksheets, SpotIQ, Formulas, Connections).
- Database & Querying: Strong proficiency in Advanced SQL (T-SQL, PL SQL, DDL/DML, stored procedures).
- Data Prep/ETL: Practical experience with ETL/Data Transformation tools and concepts such as Alteryx, DBT, and/or Python scripting for data automation.
- Data Warehousing: Working knowledge of modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift).
- Secondary BI Tools: Proficiency in either Power BI (DAX, Power Query) or Tableau (LODs, Calculations).
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with relevant cloud services (e.g., AWS S3, Lambda, Databricks) is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified ThoughtSpot Professional, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)) is a strong advantage
