Senior Business Analyst

Role Description: Senior Business Analyst/ Product Analyst (Credit Cards Domain or Banking)

Location Hyderabad

1T to 10 PM shift

4 days WFO 1 day WFH

We are looking for a highly analytical Business Analyst to support large-scale Banking and Credit Card Modernization engagement for a large US bank. The ideal candidate should possess strong business analysis, data analysis, and problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge business and technology teams.

The candidate should be comfortable working in Agile environments with evolving business requirements and should demonstrate a strong ownership mindset while solving complex business and data problems.

Role and responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Owners, Journey Teams, Architects, Engineering teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders to understand current-state and future-state business processes.
• Gather, analyze, document, and refine business and data requirements.
• Reverse engineer legacy applications, APIs, and batch processes to understand existing business logic and formulate data-driven hypotheses.
• Analyze customer journeys and define business process improvements along with associated data requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and validate canonical data models and source-to-target mappings.
• Build detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and process documentation.
• Design functional test scenarios and support SIT, UAT, and production validation activities.
• Perform end-to-end data validation using SQL and API validation using Postman.
• Experience using Tableau (or equivalent BI tools) for data visualization and data storytelling, enabling business stakeholders to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.

Technical skills requirements

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in:

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
• Hands-on experience using Postman for API testing and validation.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI/ Tableau
• Experience in business process analysis, current-state/future-state process mapping, and journey mapping.
• Strong understanding of data controls, data quality, and reconciliation concepts.

Domain Expertise

• Strong understanding of the Credit Card ecosystem including Accounts, Authorizations, Posted Transactions, Statements, Payments, Customer Lifecycle, and Servicing.
• Candidates with broader Retail Banking domain experience will also be considered.
• Exposure to Banking Modernization or Digital Transformation programs is highly preferred.

Nice-to-have skills

• Proficiency in PySpark would be a strong plus

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline. MBA preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Analysis, or functional Consulting within Banking or Financial Services.
• Prior experience working on Credit Card platforms, Core Banking, Payments, or Digital Banking transformation programs will be preferred.
