Masters in Finance, 3-4 Years of Relevant Experience

Required Skills & Competencies

  • To research and analyse credit risk forMid-Marketcases through existing due diligence processes, external agency support and in conjunction with the sales staff and risk team
  • To assess credit history and approve/ deny extension of credit to potential commercial customers
  • To keep the house keeping under control i.e. timely renewals, tracking of DPDs (for the assigned portfolio)
  • To prepare proposals for approved cases and work in collaboration with sales and risk teams to ensure sanction limits and enable quick TATs
  • To develop and maintain positive business relationships with dealers, commercial customers and sales staff.
  • To render appropriate credit decisions for more complex commercial financing requests.
  • To assist less experienced Credit Analysis team members with Mid - Market on credit policy issues and commercial underwriting negotiations

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities include initial screening of the proposal, thorough appraisal of credit proposals with the required due diligence coordination with the sales team for resolution of credit and risk concerns, maintaining Turn Around Time (TAT) interfacing with the Sales team for faster decisions Assist in Anchor program reviews.

Credit Analysis Operations
Supporting Actions:

  1. Analyzes credit applications to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit
  2. Makes prudent business decisions based on internal credit policy guidelines to approve or deny the extension of credit within established credit authority.
  3. Analyzes financial statements, collateral, debt service, personal financial statements and personal cash flow, as applicable to the size and complexity of the commercial transaction.
  4. Prepares, evaluates & underwrites finance proposals
  5. Implements & ensures adherence to credit policies and processes
  6. Strategizes & sees through the policy/ industry / market changes & implements the same in underwriting decisions
  7. Facilitates faster deal closures through proactive participation in deal structuring & credit enhancement
  8. Maintain desired TATs for deal processing by collaborating actively with sales, risk and operations teams
  9. Carries out personal discussions with clients for underwriting loans for Mid - Market when required
  10. Works with the CAD and sales teams to ensure effective and complete loan documentation
  11. Liaises with risk/ legal department on non-standard documents and/or exceptions to policy to ensure loan sanction process runs smoothly and compliantly

Sales Support Operations

Supporting Actions:

  1. Complements sales relationship management activities by maintaining regular touch points with existing clients on collateral health and credit limit utilization .
  2. Meets with clients as required in conjunction with sales to support negotiations/ deal structuring if required

Stakeholder Management

Supporting Actions:

  1. Builds good relationships with marketing/sales representatives, to structure loans to minimize risk and to close loans, and interacts effectively with a variety of departments.
  2. Develops and maintains strong business relationships with sales team members to ensure sales volume objectives and credit quality are both balanced and achieved
  3. Challenges sales/ business functions on high risk cases
  4. Supports quick closure / STP [ Straight through processing] for clean cases in collaboration with the Risk & operations teams
  5. Manages and seeks support from CPA [ Certified Public Accountants] and provides appropriate training related to organization compliance policies and processes
  6. Collaborates effectively with external agencies (Legal, Technical and Verification) for reports and opinions and to ascertain credit ratings / history for specific potential credit cases and existing loan customers.

Post Sanction Surveillance Operations
Supporting Actions:

  1. Reviews and analyzes various transactions for existing customers including
  2. Review and analysis of applications
  3. Study of financial statements, balance sheets, business and customer bureaus
  4. Review of security and legal documents
  5. Study of credit history and payment performance
  6. Performs annual/ ad hoc reviews on portfolios and individual transactions and routinely monitors loans for compliance with loan agreements/ financial covenants.

Credit Analysis Capability Building

Supporting Actions:

  1. Assists in the training of new credit analysts/officers.
  2. Reviews work of junior credit associates. As needed, provides an additional level of authority on transactions.

Serves as subject matter expert and mentor for less experienced commercial credit analysts.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
