How You Will Contribute

  • Maintain and organize compliance-related data, including reports, analyses, dashboards, and templates, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
  • Coordinate risk assessments for third parties and business opportunities in high-risk jurisdictions, including customers, resellers, and partners.
  • Support the Complex Geographies Committee by managing compliance records and ensuring documentation retention.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Compliance, Global Trade, and other internal teams to initiate due diligence and compliance actions.
  • Share best practices with stakeholders to enhance compliance processes.
  • Implement programs to ensure employees, vendors, and partners adhere to Ciena policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements in high-risk jurisdictions.
  • Facilitate compliance and anti-bribery/corruption (ABC) training for employees and third parties in higher-risk regions.

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a publicly traded international business.
  • Accreditation such as CCEP or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with international anti-corruption laws, including FCPA, UKBA, and related standards.
  • Awareness of broader risks such as sanctions, geopolitical risks, and economic crime.
  • Proficiency in desktop applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and cloud-based tools (OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Strong analytical skills, business judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with global teams across different locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new tools, platforms, and standards.
  • Very well organized and effective time management skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-sufficiency combined with the ability to escalate and seek guidance when needed.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement through workflow enhancements and project management support.Experience in high-tech or telecommunications industries.
  • Knowledge of additional risks like sanctions, security, and geopolitical challenges.
