Job Summary
The Senior Associate in IT Asset Management (ITAM) is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses, throughout their lifecycle. This role involves ensuring compliance, maximizing asset utilization, and supporting ITAM strategy and policy development. With over 6 years of experience, the Senior Associate will provide expertise in asset management processes, lead projects, and collaborate with various teams to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and retirement.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date asset records in the ITAM system, including hardware, software, licenses, and warranties.
Manage the deployment and decommissioning of IT assets, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements, vendor contracts, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Develop and enforce ITAM policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.
Optimization & Cost Management:
Identify opportunities for cost savings through efficient asset utilization, reallocation, and disposal.
Analyze asset usage and performance data to inform procurement decisions and optimize asset inventory.
Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to manage IT asset budgets and control costs.
Reporting & Analysis:
Generate and deliver regular reports on IT asset status, usage, compliance, and financial impact to stakeholders.
Use data analytics to identify trends, forecast asset needs, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to asset management and implement improvements as needed.
Project Management:
Lead and manage ITAM-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, procurement, finance, and operations, to execute ITAM initiatives.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members on ITAM processes and best practices.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
Maintain relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions for asset procurement.
Act as a liaison between ITAM and other departments, ensuring alignment and understanding of asset management practices.
Handle vendor contracts, renewals, and negotiations related to IT assets.
Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve ITAM processes to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and support business growth.
Implement and manage ITAM tools and technologies to streamline asset management activities.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT Asset Management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
6+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, with strong expertise in hardware and software asset management.
In-depth knowledge of ITAM frameworks, including asset lifecycle management, compliance, and cost optimization.
Experience with ITAM tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, etc.).
Familiarity with ITIL, COBIT, or other relevant frameworks and best practices.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and deliver complex ITAM projects.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CSAM, CITAM) are highly desirable.
