As a Configuration Engineer in the Motor Grader team, you will be asked to configure machine systems into a complete machine by creating and maintaining assembly of machine 3D model, machine-level bill-of-material, and top-level drawings; conducting virtual audits and physical builds of machines; and driving resolution of issues. You will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the machine layout, design concept, space claim analysis, component placement, and conceptual work to determine how can we package the components on the machine. In this role, you will be expected closely working with the machine tech lead and integration engineer to arrive at and common solution. You must manage your development, continuously learning through experience and staying abreast of technology.
Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To
Create and maintain a top-level bill of material (UGC)
Create and maintain the high-level model
Conducting config review
Conduct feasibility and compatibility study
Participate and communicate the design decision in Collaboration meetings/Design reviews
Machine level Virtual Audit
Creating a film for engineering model collaboration with the different product group
Provide technical guidance and initiate ideas
Complete projects on time and at cost
BOM, JT Models & Pricelist management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in mechanical engineering curriculum (or equivalent)
8+ years of job-related experience
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Machine level experience in the previous role
Good understanding of construction equipment and its application
Experience in Kit offering and dealer solution
Experience with APQP, GEC, and Supply Chain
Good understanding of skeleton model
Project leadership experience
Knowing Caterpillar Standards is a must for this role
Prior experience in CPI/NPI is a must
Experience with Vis Mockup
Expert in Teamcenter and issue fixing /JT assembly/ PRWB (HVC)/ EDS
Handling complex assembly in Creo is a must for this role
Prior experience on any system team in design & development is added advantage
Participation in at least one full product development cycle to provide end-to-end complex engineering solutions will be an advantage.
Relocation is available for this position.
