Job Description

Job Title: BIM Revit

Job Description

The BIM plays a key role in developing and implementing BIM procedures, strategies, and workflows for telecom and ELV systems. This position focuses on designing and modeling complex low-current systems, creating and managing parametric Revit families, and ensuring high-quality, coordinated BIM models that support project delivery from concept through detailed design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain BIM procedures, strategies, and workflows for telecom and ELV disciplines.
  • Design and model telecom and ELV systems, including structured cabling for fire life safety, data, and voice networks.
  • Design and model CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, public address (PA) systems, and fire alarm systems within a BIM environment.
  • Create, manage, and update parametric Revit families for telecom and ELV components to ensure consistency and reusability across projects.
  • Perform clash detection using BIM collaboration tools to identify and resolve conflicts between telecom/ELV systems and other building services.
  • Convert laser scan and point cloud data into detailed BIM models with levels of development ranging from LOD 200 to LOD 500.
  • Conduct quality checks on BIM model geometry to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards.
  • Review and validate data integrity within BIM models, ensuring correct parameters, metadata, and documentation are maintained.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to coordinate telecom and ELV models with architectural, structural, and MEP models.
  • Support continuous improvement of BIM standards and libraries related to telecom and ELV components.

Essential Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with experience in MEP modeling preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with BIM processes and workflows, including telecom and ELV disciplines.
  • Ability to design and model structured cabling systems for fire life safety, data, and voice networks.
  • Ability to design and model CCTV, access control, PA, and fire alarm systems within BIM.
  • Experience creating and managing parametric Revit families for specialized components.
  • Competence in using BIM collaboration platforms such as BIM 360 or similar tools for coordination and clash detection.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and integration with BIM workflows.
  • Experience with Autodesk Recap or equivalent tools for processing laser scan and point cloud data.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on model quality, geometry accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with models at varying levels of development, including LOD 200–500.
  • Familiarity with telecom and ELV industry standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of coordination requirements between telecom/ELV systems and other building services.
  • Capability to support the development and refinement of BIM standards and component libraries.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot model issues and resolve clashes efficiently.

Work Environment

This role operates in a technology-driven design environment that relies heavily on Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360 or similar collaboration platforms, and Autodesk Recap for laser scan and point cloud processing. Work is primarily performed in an office or hybrid setting, focused on digital modeling, coordination, and documentation. The position involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, and other BIM specialists, working within established BIM standards and procedures to deliver accurate, detailed models for telecom and ELV systems.
