Job Description

Type: On-Site | Location: BLR

Joining Date: Immediate to 2 weeks

Experience: 8+ years, including experience leading projects and mentoring designers

Skills & Qualities We're Looking For

Creative leadership

  • You can set a creative/art direction for a brand or web project and articulate the thinking behind it — not just what looks good, but why it's the right answer for this client and audience.
  • You can develop and pitch big-picture creative concepts and campaign visual languages, then carry them through to detailed execution.
  • You can direct the work of other designers and freelancers — briefing clearly, giving sharp and constructive feedback, and raising the overall quality of what the team produces.
  • You can hold the quality bar across several projects running in parallel, knowing when to go hands-on and when to direct.

Craft

  • Elite web design skills — you can design a full website from scratch and think in systems, not one-off pages, and you can set the design system standards others work within.
  • Strong brand identity chops — you can design a logo, build a visual identity system around it, and deliver brand guidelines a client's internal team can actually use.
  • Exceptional visual design sense — typography, colour, layout, spacing, hierarchy — your work is polished, intentional, and sets the standard for the team.
  • Solid command of UX fundamentals — information architecture, user flows, interaction patterns, responsive behaviour, and accessibility basics.
  • Ability to design for conversion — especially landing pages and campaign microsites where the page has a clear job to do (register, download, contact, learn more).

Context & communication

  • A confident, credible presence in front of clients — you can present and defend creative direction, explain decisions clearly, absorb feedback without losing the thread, and guide clients toward the strongest option.
  • Ability to present multiple creative directions and make a clear, reasoned case for the one that best serves the brief.
  • Ability to scope work accurately, build realistic timelines, and deliver against them — for your own work and for projects you're directing.

Operating

  • Organised design files by default — clear naming, proper layers, reusable components, ready for handoff or collaboration at any point — and you set that standard for the team.
  • Comfort working with freelancers and developers — briefing them clearly, reviewing their output, and maintaining design quality through production.
  • Self-driven and organised enough to run and oversee multiple projects in parallel without things slipping.

Tools You'll Use

Design & Prototyping (must-know)

  • Figma — your primary tool for UI design, prototyping, and handoff, plus building and maintaining scalable component libraries and design systems that the wider team works within.
  • Adobe Illustrator — logo design, vector work, icon systems, brand identity assets, custom illustrations, and print-ready output.
  • Adobe Photoshop — image editing, compositing, photo treatment, and asset preparation.
  • Animation and micro-interaction tools — Figma prototyping, Framer animations, or lightweight CSS/JS animation understanding.

Strongly Preferred

  • Basic understanding of HTML & CSS — not to write production code, but to design intelligently for the medium and communicate effectively with developers.
  • Webflow — for designing and building live responsive websites without developer dependency.
  • Framer — for interactive prototypes and publishable web pages.
  • CMS platforms — familiarity with WordPress, HubSpot, Contentful, or similar, so you can design within CMS constraints when needed.

Good to Have

  • After Effects or Lottie — for animated UI elements or micro-interactions exported for web.
  • Analytics awareness — reading heatmaps, scroll depth, and conversion data to inform design decisions.

About the Role

  • You'll lead the art and creative direction for brand and web work — microsites, full websites, event and campaign pages, web editorials, and end-to-end brand identity systems (logos, visual languages, brand guidelines, campaign toolkits).
  • This is a step beyond owning individual projects. You'll set the creative vision across multiple engagements at once, hold the quality bar for design coming out of the team, and be the person clients look to for the big idea as well as the execution.
  • You'll take an ambiguous brief — sometimes little more than a business problem — and shape the creative direction: what the idea is, what the design solution should be, and how it comes together as a coherent system that serves the client's audience and goals.
  • You'll guide designers and freelancers through the work: giving creative direction, reviewing output, elevating the craft, and stepping in hands-on when a project needs it. This remains a hands-on role — you still design, not just direct.
  • You'll partner with strategy, content, and account teams to make sure the creative is grounded in the client's objectives and holds together across every touchpoint.
  • You'll play a central role in client relationships — presenting and defending creative direction, building trust, and steering clients toward the strongest solution.
