Job Title: Senior Analyst – IT Asset Management (ServiceNow CMDB/HAM/SAM)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Analyst – IT Asset Management (ServiceNow CMDB/HAM/SAM) to support the governance, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management processes. The role will be responsible for ensuring data integrity across Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM Pro), and Configuration Management Database (CMDB), while supporting asset lifecycle management, compliance, reporting, and enterprise integrations.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, HAM, SAM Pro, ITIL processes, and asset governance within a large enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow CMDB & Configuration Management
- Create, update, and maintain Configuration Items (CIs) and ensure the accuracy of attributes such as Location, Assigned User, Installed/Operational Status, Operating System, IP Address, Support Group, and SLA associations.
- Maintain CI relationships and support the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Ensure synchronization between IT Assets and CMDB records.
- Perform routine CMDB health checks to identify and resolve duplicate, orphaned, or stale Configuration Items.
Hardware & Software Asset Management
- Support the complete hardware asset lifecycle, including procurement, allocation, reassignment, recovery, and disposal.
- Maintain stockroom inventories, asset transfers, tagging, and scanning activities.
- Manage software asset records, entitlement data, and allocation/deallocation activities using ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- Support software normalization and reconciliation activities.
- Monitor and validate data received from ServiceNow Discovery, Agent Client Collector (ACC), Active Directory/Azure AD, Workday, Azure, AWS, ManageEngine, and other integrated systems.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, failed synchronization jobs, and reconciliation issues.
- Ensure CMDB data quality through regular audits and governance activities.
- Support internal and external audits related to IT Asset Management and Configuration Management.
- Assist with Effective License Position (ELP) reporting and software license compliance.
- Ensure adherence to organizational IT Asset Management policies and information security standards, including ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and applicable data privacy regulations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for IT assets and configuration records.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for:
- Asset inventory and lifecycle status
- CMDB health and data quality
- Discovery coverage
- License compliance
- Asset disposal and recovery
- Provide actionable insights to support operational and leadership decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, with strong exposure to ServiceNow CMDB, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro).
- Experience working in enterprise IT environments supporting global operations.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, Request, and Configuration Management.
