About Ek Tara
Ek Tara is a registered trust based in Kolkata working towards the holistic development of marginalised children and women in the slums of Topsia and Tiljala with a vision to provide high-quality holistic education and livelihood skills to enable positive community transformation. The Ek Tara Learning Centre runs academic, co-curricular and parental engagement activities for close to 950 children. We also are working with KMC/SSM schools to create model learning environments. Role Overview
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons for History and Geography.
- Adapt mode of instructions to meet diverse learning needs and backgrounds of children.
- Maintain accurate student progress reports and share regular updates with parents and school administrators.
- Promote a classroom culture of respect, inclusion and collaboration.
- Participate in school activities and extracurricular activities.
- Stay updated with evolving teaching methods and engage in professional development.
Qualifications And Skills
- Graduate in History or Geography ( Master's preferred). Might have to teach both the subject till Grade 10.
- Proficient in English, Hindi and Bengali.
- Experience in teaching children of different grade levels and learning needs.
- An excellent communicator and a strong team player.
- Energetic, empathetic and deeply committed to student development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.
