Ruvimo is looking for experienced and engaging SAT English Tutors to provide 1:1 live online tutoring to students in the United States preparing for the Digital SAT.
Role Overview
As an SAT English Tutor, you will help students strengthen their Reading and Writing skills, understand Digital SAT question patterns, develop effective test-taking strategies, and improve their overall SAT performance through personalized instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging 1:1 online SAT English sessions for U.S. students.
- Teach concepts aligned with the Digital SAT Reading and Writing section.
- Cover key areas including:
- Craft and Structure
- Information and Ideas
- Standard English Conventions
- Expression of Ideas
- Vocabulary in Context
- Grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and usage
- Teach effective SAT-specific strategies, including elimination techniques, time management, and question analysis.
- Identify individual student strengths and learning gaps and personalize sessions accordingly.
- Work through SAT-style practice questions and mock tests with students.
- Explain incorrect answers and help students understand the reasoning behind the correct choice.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, interactive, and student-friendly learning environment.
Requirements
- Strong command of English grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and written expression.
- Prior experience teaching SAT English / SAT Reading & Writing is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the current Digital SAT format and question types.
- Experience teaching U.S. students or familiarity with U.S. academic standards is preferred.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and teach test-taking strategies effectively.
- Excellent spoken English and communication skills.
- Comfortable conducting 1:1 online classes.
- Reliable laptop/desktop, stable high-speed internet connection, webcam, and headset.
- Ability to teach during hours suitable for U.S. student time zones.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with experience as an SAT tutor, English/ELA tutor, test-prep instructor, or standardized-test trainer will be preferred. Experience with other U.S. standardized assessments such as the ACT can be an added advantage.
