Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Software Engineer specializing in SAP ABAP Development to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in
SAP ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, SAP HANA, SAP BTP, and S/4HANA.
The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-scale SAP solutions while working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Must-Have Skills
- 10+ years of total experience in IT/software development.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP Development, including:
- ABAP Objects
- Modern/New ABAP Syntax
- Performance Tuning
- Strong knowledge of SAP Core Data Services (CDS), including:
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP-based development.
- Strong experience with ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
- Implementation experience with SAP S/4HANA and a strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture and best practices.
- Experience in SAP Fiori / SAPUI5, OData Services, and Fiori Elements.
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration technologies such as:
- BAPI
- BAdI
- IDoc
- User Exits
- RFC
- Web Services
- APIs
- Good understanding of SAP security concepts and authorization checks in ABAP objects.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git/GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with SAP BTP – CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model).
- Knowledge of advanced ABAP concepts.
- Experience in API design and development.
- Exposure to cloud-native development practices.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Familiarity with emerging SAP technologies and innovations.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and modern software development methodologies.
- Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level SAP applications and solutions.
- Develop scalable solutions using ABAP, CDS Views, SAP HANA, SAP BTP, and S/4HANA.
- Design and implement high-quality technical solutions based on business requirements.
- Develop and maintain backend applications, APIs, RESTful services, and integrations.
- Build user-friendly applications using SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and Fiori Elements.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams.
- Analyze complex requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions and integration approaches.
- Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to coding and development best practices.
- Implement appropriate security and authorization controls.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical strategy and knowledge sharing.
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in enterprise SAP development and S/4HANA environments.
- Ability to independently handle complex technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Stable career history with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated good tenure in previous organizations.
