Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Account Manager to join our Pharma, Lifesciences function at our Mumbai, Maharashtra. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Life Sciences function. This position will report to Sales Director.
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for:
- Sales and business development of Ashland excipients with pharmaceutical, life science and biopharmaceutical companies.
- Preparation and achievement of sales target (Revenue, volume and gross profit) and organizational goals for every year
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as call reports, monthly reports and annual territory analysis.
- Value selling, key account management and interpersonal skills to improve the profitability of our business
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandizing techniques.
- Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and develop new accounts for Ashland excipients.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training programs, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in pharmaceutical conferences.
- Responsible for account receivables, I C forms, handling of rejections and customer complaints.
- Develop and grow the commercial relationships of assigned leading customers while prospecting for new accounts to increase market penetration.
- Develop opportunity pipeline to drive new business for future commercial success.
- Forecast sales to enable operations planning, introduce product innovations and maintain active memberships.
Education/Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant B. Pharm with Management diploma or degree /M.Pharm
Key Interactions:
- Internal: SCM, RD, QA RA
- External: Customer purchase and RD
Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Familiarity about Pharmaceutical product development manufacturing operations
- Good communication skills ( both verbal written )
- Self-motivated and passionate about value selling
- Good team player.
