Job Title - Regional Sales Manager (B2C / Retail Sales)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to lead and drive B2C, retail, and counter-sales across assigned zones/states (PAN-India).
The RSM will be responsible for achieving sales targets (volume & value), expanding retail presence, managing dealer and distributor networks, leading a dynamic sales team, and ensuring strong market coverage and brand representation.
This role demands a seasoned sales leader with strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills, who has prior track record in territory/zonal management preferably in building materials, insulation or a related product line.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies and business plans aligned with companys overall objectives and targets.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets (volume and value) for B2C, retail, and counter-sales in assigned territories.
- Expand market presence: grow dealer/distributor network, onboard new customers (retailers, counters, builders, corporate), and ensure coverage across zones/states.
- Manage, mentor, and lead a high-performance sales team; recruit/train area sales managers / sales representatives, set team targets, monitor performance, conduct reviews and ensure execution discipline.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders: dealers, distributors, retailers, builders, architects, and large clients; ensure product availability, stock management, and timely fulfilment.
- Handle credit control and collections ensure timely recovery, manage receivables, and coordinate with accounts/finance department as needed.
- Monitor market conditions, gather market intelligence and competitor activity, analyze trends use insights to optimize sales strategy, distribution and product availability.
- Plan and implement promotions, trade marketing, and product launch initiatives in coordination with marketing/product teams to boost retail/counter sales and brand visibility.
- Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, budgets, reports and performance analysis to senior management.
- Ensure high standard of customer service address customer complaints promptly, follow up on feedback, and maintain brand reputation and customer satisfaction.
- Optimize regional expenses manage field cost, travel cost, and ensure cost-effective distribution and operations across zones.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBA (Business, Marketing, Sales, or related discipline) master's preferred.
- Total work experience of 10+ years in B2C / retail / counter sales with minimum zonal/territory level responsibility covering at least 2 states / zones.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing multi-state / PAN-India territories. Experience with building materials / insulation or related product line is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills experience in recruiting, training and leading sales teams; demonstrated ability to drive performance and motivate team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Good analytical skills ability to interpret sales data, track KPIs, analyze market & competitor trends, and translate insights into actionable sales strategies.
- Proficiency in MS Office / CRM / sales tracking tools for reporting, forecasting, and data management.
- Willingness to travel as required (frequent travel across zones / states).
- Customer-oriented mindset, problem-solving ability, ability to handle credit control, collections and after-sales issues.
