Position: Regional / Zonal Sales Manager Oncology
Experience: 8+ years in Oncology sales along with 3+ years in people management
Location: Delhi
(Note: Candidates from Global Pharma MNC with Oncology sales experience will only be considered for this role)
Reports To: National Sales Lead Oncology
Subordinates: ASM
Location:: Region-specific (North)
Main Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage sales execution for oncology products within a defined region. This role is responsible for translating national strategies into regional action plans, driving sales targets, developing field teams, and ensuring sustainable market growth through strategic execution and effective stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Execution
- Translate national oncology strategy into actionable regional sales plans.
- Set and drive regional sales objectives aligned with business goals.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities across healthcare professionals (HCPs), institutions, and new accounts.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Territory Business Managers (TBMs).
- Recruit, onboard, train, and retain high-performing sales talent.
- Identify development needs and implement training and capability-building programs for the field force.
- Conduct regular field coaching visits and performance reviews.
- Set an example for field discipline (call reporting, coverage, joint fieldwork, expenses, meeting planning, etc.).
Performance & Compliance Management
- Monitor territory performance using data analytics, CRM, and field intelligence tools.
- Conduct monthly sales and activity reviews with ASMs and develop corrective action plans.
- Ensure adherence to marketing strategies and ethical promotional practices.
- Drive forecasting and budgeting processes for the region.
Stakeholder Engagement & Market Development
- Drive effective engagement with doctors, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and other regional stakeholders.
- Manage key accounts, local institutions, and distribution partners to ensure seamless access and supply.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Medical, Marketing, Training) to implement localized initiatives.
- Maintain competitive intelligence and provide regular insights from the field.
Key Deliverables & Accountabilities
- Achievement of regional sales targets and business KPIs.
- Development of a high-performing and compliant sales team.
- Effective implementation of marketing campaigns at the regional level.
- Data-driven decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
- Timely and accurate reporting, forecasting, and feedback to senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Graduate in Life Sciences or Pharmacy.
- MBA is desirable.
Experience:
- 810 years in pharmaceutical sales.
- Minimum 23 years in a first-line people management role (e.g., ASM).
- Experience in oncology therapeutic area preferred.
