Mission Rabies India is a nonprofit organization aimed at eliminating rabies through a One Health approach, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. The organization operates in high-risk regions, collaborating with governments, veterinary experts, and local partners. Their programs include mass dog vaccination, community education, and disease surveillance.

Job Description:

  • Respond to calls coming via the hotline to conduct first level investigations on ground of suspected rabid animals
  • Assess the situation and work with ARK NGO + the Rabies Response Team (RRT) closely to be able to respond to cases swiftly
  • Accurately document findings using our app-based system, maintaining high-quality records for surveillance
  • Follow-up with bite victims, maintain database and make sure they complete PEP
  • Raise awareness about rabies, educate on prevention methods, and encourage reporting of animal bites in communities and groups
  • Work with local authorities, NGOs, and stakeholders to coordinate rabies response efforts and train community members
  • Visit PHCs, health officers, vets, and inform about the current surveillance project to help improve reporting

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in any field
  • Experience in community engagement, animal welfare, or public health
  • Proficiency in digital tools for data collection (Microsoft/Google Suite)
  • Strong communication skills, fluency in Malayalam and English

This role requires frequent travel to remote locations, flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The role will include full training + pre-exposure rabies vaccination.
