About The Role
We're looking for passionate and detail-oriented
Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) to join our QA team. You'll be responsible for ensuring high-quality releases across our e-commerce enablement platform through automation, robust test strategy, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You'll work on modern tech stacks, take ownership of test frameworks, and help shape the quality culture within a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Playwright-based UI automation frameworks using JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Build and execute API automation suites using Playwright or similar tools.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to understand requirements, define test strategies, and ensure quality across releases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
- Participate in test planning, estimation, and coverage reviews for every sprint/release.
- Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on both frontend and backend components.
- Own and drive test data management, environment readiness, and result reporting.
- Identify gaps in test coverage and propose scalable automation solutions.
- Debug issues, analyze logs, and collaborate with developers to ensure quick turnaround.
- Mentor junior QAs/SDETs (for SDET III level) and contribute to overall test strategy and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 26 years of total experience in QA or test automation roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with automation frameworks/tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or TestNG preferably Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language for automation (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Python).
- Strong understanding of API testing, REST principles, and JSON-based validations.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies, sprint processes, and QA's role in iterative development cycles.
- Good understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, STLC, and the defect life cycle.
- Working knowledge of version control systems (Git) and test management tools.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Exposure to e-commerce or transaction-based systems is a plus.
- Experience with data validation using databases (MySQL, MongoDB, or GBQ) preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/GCP) and environment configuration is a plus.
