Position: Quality Control Engineer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer (Mechanical) with hands-on experience in heavy structural fabrication and exposure to RDSO-approved laboratory standards. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality requirements, inspection standards, and documentation as per project and regulatory norms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated structural components.
- Ensure compliance with RDSO standards, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with RDSO-approved labs for material testing, NDT, and third-party inspections.
- Review and verify Mill Test Certificates (MTC), WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
- Conduct and monitor NDT activities (UT, RT, PT, MT) through approved agencies.
- Maintain and control quality documentation, inspection reports, and test records.
- Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and client visits.
- Work closely with production team to ensure quality compliance during fabrication and erection.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols on shop floor.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in heavy fabrication / structural steel industry
- Experience working with or coordinating with RDSO-approved laboratories is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of:
- Welding processes and inspection standards
- Structural fabrication drawings
- NDT methods and quality control procedures
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques
- Good knowledge of IS codes, RDSO guidelines, and fabrication practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and quality reporting tools
- Strong coordination and communication skills
