Hiring Purchase Manager for JRJ STEELS PRIVATE LIMITED
Job Description:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery timelines. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and service agreements.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs. Monitor inventory turnover and implement measures to reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Purchase Planning: Forecast procurement needs based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory levels. Coordinate with production, sales, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.
- Cost Control: Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings through negotiation, bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased materials and supplies meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct quality inspections and implement corrective actions as needed to address non-conformities.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement, including ethical sourcing practices, import/export regulations, and tax compliance.
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular performance reviews to assess adherence to contract terms, delivery performance, quality of goods/services, and overall satisfaction.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and vendor communications. Prepare and present periodic reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and key metrics.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective procurement operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or similar role in the manufacturing or steel industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers/vendors.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and inventory management techniques.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
