We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive with strong experience in procurement of pharmaceutical packaging materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring packaging materials as per production requirements while ensuring cost-efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery. The role demands close coordination with vendors, internal stakeholders (Production, QA, QC, Finance), and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials (e.g., blister packs, bottles, labels, cartons, inserts, shippers, etc.).
- Ensure timely procurement of packaging materials as per the production plan and inventory norms.
- Conduct vendor negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, better credit terms, and timely delivery.
- Raise purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, and manage documentation related to purchase activities.
- Maintain vendor master data and regularly update rate contracts.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams for packaging material approvals and regulatory documentation.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain proper records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Support internal audits and external inspections by providing necessary documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging materials and associated specifications.
- Excellent vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to packaging materials in the pharma industry.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally).
- Sound understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
