Job Description Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Engineer / Project Manager with 45 years of experience in the mechanical, automobile, or chemical engineering domain. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise combined with project management skills to oversee end-to-end project execution. As part of our growing startup, this role is not only about delivering projects successfully but also about building and nurturing a motivated engineering team aligned with our vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, supply chain, and quality) to achieve project milestones.
- Prepare project plans, allocate resources, monitor progress, and proactively resolve risks/issues.
- Support new product development (NPD) and custom engineering solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Drive process optimization and cost reduction initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a team-oriented, innovative, and problem-solving culture.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
- Utilize project management tools to track deliverables, budgets, and timelines effectively.
- Contribute to the long-term growth of the startup by setting up scalable project management frameworks and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Chemical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 45 years of relevant experience in project engineering or project management within manufacturing, automotive, or process industries.
- Hands-on exposure to product design & development, order engineering, or process optimization.
- Familiarity with project management software/tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, fabrication, or related areas).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to inspire and grow a team.
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to handle multiple priorities in a startup environment.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) would be a plus.
