The Project Engineer will play a vital role in overseeing the execution and maintenance of store fitouts. This position requires hands-on involvement in all aspects of the fitout process, ensuring that each project meets design standards, budget constraints, and deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Project Execution: Assist in managing the retail fitout projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Team Coordination: Work collaboratively with the project manager and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
- Resource Management: Assist in forecasting resources needed for projects and managing them efficiently.
- Budget Management: Support the preparation of budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure projects stay within financial limits.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, GFCs, As-builts, warranties, and invoice submissions.
- Scheduling: Help develop and adhere to project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Site Work Planning: Plan and execute interior, HVAC, and MEP works on-site as directed by the project manager.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Innovation Support: Contribute ideas and solutions to improve store design and retail fixtures.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress and assist in making necessary adjustments to stay on schedule.
- Maintenance Assistance: Help oversee the maintenance of retail interiors, exteriors, and fixtures to ensure they remain in excellent condition.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Assist in developing maintenance schedules for completed projects to ensure ongoing quality and performance.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in managing retail fitout projects especially from retail background organisations.
- Strong knowledge of facility systems and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems.
- Familiarity with Commercial Interiors, False Ceilings, POP, Partitioning, and Site Management.
- Proficient in reviewing and valuing drawings, ensuring compliance with fit-out guidelines.
- Knowledge in using project management tools and design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Able to manage tasks and coordinate with various stakeholders efficiently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to handling issues and conflicts.
- Able to travel extensively to various project sites.
- Able to work effectively within a team environment.
- Core construction/office background not recommended.
