Chandigarh University seeks highly qualified and research-driven candidates for the positions of Associate Professor and Professor in the Department of Psychology. The selected faculty members will contribute to excellence in teaching, research, student mentoring, and institutional development in alignment with UGC norms and global best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Mentoring
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in core and specialized areas of Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, Organizational/Industrial, Cognitive, Positive Psychology, etc.).
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and internships at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
- Develop innovative pedagogy, e-learning modules, and curriculum aligned with UGC guidelines.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and psychological skill-building support for students.
Research & Scholarship
- Undertake independent and collaborative research in Psychology and allied fields.
- Publish scholarly work in reputed indexed journals (Scopus/SCI/UGC-Care).
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Apply for funded research projects from government and private agencies.
- Supervise M.A./M.Sc. and Ph.D. research scholars.
Institutional & Administrative Contributions
- Participate in curriculum development, accreditation processes (NAAC, NIRF, QS rankings), and departmental activities.
- Contribute to workshops, training programs, and extension/community engagement initiatives.
- Build collaborations with hospitals, NGOs, corporates, and international institutions.
- Support departmental leadership in academic planning, admissions, and student support activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Associate Professor (Psychology)
- Qualification: Ph.D. in Psychology (any specialization) with first class at Master's level (M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology).
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience, with at least 3 years as Assistant Professor.
- Research Profile: At least 58 publications in peer-reviewed, indexed journals. Experience in guiding PG/Ph.D. students desirable.
Professor (Psychology)
- Qualification: Ph.D. in Psychology (any specialization) with first class at Master's level (M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology).
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience, with at least 5 years at the level of Associate Professor.
- Research Profile: At least 1015 publications in reputed indexed journals; proven record of guiding doctoral students. Evidence of funded projects/patents desirable.
