How You Will Contribute:
CIENA's Optical Networks products portfolio comprises of a broad family of products for Aggregation, Metro and Core networks of Telecom Carriers and GCNs. Successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing our automation-focused test strategies for system-level validation along with test execution for Ciena's Optical Networks products based on technologies such as OTN Transport/Switching, and associated Network Management System.
- Support senior verifiers in designing, documenting, and building test environment.
- Understanding features targeted in a release, identifying customer network deployment and operational scenarios for the features and documenting tests for their validation.
- Performing tests in captive lab network using device/network management system and NBIs
- Identifying automation requirements for the tests and coding test scenarios in python in Ciena's proprietary test automation framework
- Document and report deviations in system behavior in Defect Tracking System and work with system design to take them to closure.
- Collaborating with verification and design team members to achieve release goals.
- Regular updates to the manager on project/assignment status are expected.

The Must Haves:
- Good knowledge of Telecommunication technologies (optical/satellite/microwave networks), and digital modulation techniques (ASK, PSK, QAM, etc.)
- Strong programming skills in python and experience in Linux environment.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and their architecture.
- Detailed oriented with an eye for quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-drive demonstrated in projects undertaken.
- Ability to organize work in a structured manner.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and meeting tight deadlines.
- Working as team player who welcomes collaboration.
- Remain flexible regarding your tasks with a positive attitude contributing to better team environment and increased productivity
Education and Experience
- Completed Bachelors or Masters in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Optical Communications by June 2024/2023 with up to 1 year of full time industry experience. Any working experience with telecom operator/Vendor would be given preference.
