The Marketing Sr. Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with partner facing teams to understand and drive portfolio/marketing research engagements in support of product and loyalty innovation, digital integration, information security, and thought leadership.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and guidance to identify, design and deliver actionable research findings.
  • Manage third party research vendors to execute and deliver best in class research.
  • Develop plan to disseminate and present available Research to relevant audiences (both general staff and top leadership) on an ongoing basis so it's value and utility is maximized. Make presentations to business partners when necessary.
  • Develop into category and portfolio subject matter expert (SME).
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging research resources and techniques that would be relevant for our business, vet them and test as appropriate.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:
  • 6-10 years in Marketing or Market Research and experience in Consulting.
  • Team player ability to lead, partner and negotiate with cross functional team to successfully deliver client needs. Track record of delivering meaningful research insights that drive business success.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated sense of accountability and decisiveness.
  • Ability to successfully interact with various levels within the organization, including Senior Management.
  • Intellectually curious, proactively seeking and developing new opportunities.
  • Presentation and exerting influence. Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel


Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Create insightful and contextual marketing campaigns to drive brand preference.
  • Brand planning and marketing strategy
  • Deliver engaging content on social media, thereby increase the social and digital metrics across channels such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
  • Leverage influencers to drive reach and brand salience
  • Come up new age-ideas and innovations to drive brand attributes and engagement
  • Manage varied agencies across creative, media, research, social media.
  • Handle paid media campaigns and key deliverables of initiatives.
  • Lead strategic and tactical marketing discussions with partners
  • Create and manage marketing budgets, including monthly forecast, and budget reconciliation.
  • Ensure all legal, compliance, and process activities are properly vetted and secured as part of program implementation.
  • Collaborate with business, acquisition, analytics team to drive business for the brand
  • Amplify campaigns across channels including owned media (emailers, website, mobile app) and paid media (social and digital media), other traditional media (outdoor, print, radio), increasing the discoverability for Citi's products
  • Manage and track the performance of each media channel.
  • Leverage research and insights tools where appropriate to make smarter decisions.
  • Manage a team of brand managers, management associates on various products

Key Deliverables and Focus Areas:
  • Brand metrics (reputation, awareness, preference, recall), business deliverables, existing client marketing metrics, customer life cycle management, growth and new customer acquisition metrics
  • Brand Building, Creative and media strategy, driving thought leadership and execution excellence on the segment/products
  • Driving innovation, media partnerships, content strategy for the given segment/products
  • Agency/vendor management, monitoring third party relationships for the unit.
  • Advertising and Marketing Budget Management, driving financial discipline and controls.
  • People management, team leader, country/regional/global stakeholder management, and driving peer and cross functional relationships.

Qualifications/ Experience/ Technical Skills:
  • 6-10years of relevant work experience out of which last 5-7 years should be in core marketing
  • Experience in brand management, product marketing
  • Expert knowledge in media planning across ATL channels, digital and social media management expertise is a must
  • Experience in managing agencies - creative, media, research, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results that is timely, relevant and effective, and strong people and project management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills & experience of working in a matrix organization will be considered an advantage
