India's electricity grid loses enough power annually to provide free power to all of Bangladesh for almost 6 years! We, at Polaris, provide pathbreaking technology to solve this problem. Polaris provides the industry's most comprehensive Platform as a Service for smart electricity metering systems that enable utilities to radically reduce power distribution losses and manage their infrastructure digitally. Our intelligent, state of the art smart energy meter platform allows utilities to digitize and automate 100% of their metering, billing, and collection activities, and leverage AI/ML to enable faster & better decisions on how to manage large and distributed power infrastructure by plugging theft, leakages and inefficiencies on the grid. Our platform is integrable with any smart energy meter on the market, which is why we're building it with the aim of becoming the Android for billions of meters worldwide.

What we are looking for

Polaris is seeking a highly skilled professional to translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable international standards and alignment with organizational objectives. This role is responsible for defining product specifications, leading cross-functional collaboration, driving product innovation, and continuously enhancing product performance through customer insights, market intelligence, and evolving regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing

Operational Responsibilities Discovery Phase-

• Convert customer requirements into actionable technical outputs for the team.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and integrate them into product development.
• Translate international standards into clear engineering requirements.
• Maintain a master document capturing compliance standards for Polaris products.

Planning Phase-

• Analyze RFPs and tender documents, identifying necessary adjustments in cost and timelines.
• Actively participate in all bids and tenders to align product goals with business objectives.
• Work with engineering teams to evaluate changes and their impact on time and costs

Development Phase-

• Review test plans and share them with relevant teams for implementation.
• Collaborate with business analysts and SMEs to design workflows and identify resource needs.
• Define coding methodologies and ensure alignment with business requirements.

Launch Phase-

• Ensure comprehensive and accurate product documentation.
• Define success metrics and track product performance.
• Plan and execute go-to-market strategies to support product launches.

Post-Launch Phase-

• Compare tender specifications with internal performance metrics to ensure alignment.
• Promote project diversity and product suitability for tendering processes.

What you should have

• Over 5 years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of launching and scaling products successfully
• Expertise in collaborating with insights, design, engineering, data science, and other product teams
• In-depth knowledge of tech stacks, embedded systems, and electromechanical products.
• Strong understanding of smart meter technologies, including software and hardware components
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Profound knowledge of IoT technologies and their application in smart meter systems.
• Excellent negotiation skills to align internal and external stakeholders.
