Perceptive Labs is building an ecosystem of AI agentsa marketplace where companies browse, install, and manage agents that connect to their data and run autonomously. We're looking for a Front End Product Designer Intern to translate complex AI workflows into simple, trustworthy, and usable experiences.
What You'll Do
Product & UI Development
- Build the AI Agent Marketplace: agent catalog, install/configure flows, sandbox trials.
- Activity feed (agent runs, traces, outcomes)
- Approvals & audit system for human-in-loop decisions
- Cost dashboards (token, compute, and API usage)
- Implement data connection flows (Postgres, Google Sheets, HubSpot, ERPs, etc.) with smooth UX.
- Integrate front-end with APIs to fetch and visualize real-time logs, metrics, and states.
- Build complex, data-driven UI patterns tables, filters, charts, timelines, modals.
Design System & UX
- Extend and maintain our ui design system typography, spacing, colors, motion, components.
- Collaborate to ensure UI consistency and accessibility across screens.
- Prototype new interactions (multi-step modals, progress states, visual traces) in Figma + React.
- Participate in UX reviews and propose improvements based on pilot customer feedback.
- Apply principles of trust UX clarity, reversibility, visibility for AI actions and logs.
Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with AI developers to define front-end APIs and data models.
- Contribute to front-end architecture, component structure, and code quality guidelines.
- Optimize performance, load times, and user feedback loops.
- Help shape our developer experience (tooling, Storybook, preview deployments).
Iteration & Learning
- Test early ideas rapidly ship, measure, iterate.
- Collaborate directly with pilot users to improve workflows.
- Document components, flows, and user journeys for scaling the team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong foundation in React + TypeScript, with clean component-driven architecture.
- Solid understanding of Next.js / Vite, TailwindCSS, and modern build tools.
- Experience integrating with REST / GraphQL APIs and handling async data states.
- Knowledge of state management (React Query, Zustand, Redux, etc.).
- Attention to detail in responsive design, accessibility, and cross-browser behavior.
- Comfort working in Figma: wireframing, prototyping, component creation.
- Eye for visual hierarchy, spacing, and consistency.
- Ability to translate ambiguous product ideas into tangible UI/UX flows.
- Understanding of user feedback, affordance, and error prevention in design.
- Awareness of enterprise/dashboard UX patterns (filters, bulk actions, tables, activity feeds).
Nice to Have
- Experience with shadcn/ui, Radix UI, Framer Motion, or Storybook.
- Familiarity with LangChain, Langfuse, or building AI-integrated UIs.
- Comfort designing for dark/light mode and theming systems.
- Exposure to data visualization libraries (Recharts, D3, Chart.js).
- Experience writing front-end tests (Jest, React Testing Library).
- Basic understanding of backend flows (Node.js, API design, Supabase/Firebase).
- Curiosity about AI safety, interpretability, or human-AI interaction design.
