Job Title: Interior Trim Product Design Engineer
Location: Chennai
Experience Required: 3 to 6 Years
Skills Required: 3DX / Catia V5 & Product Design
We are looking for a Product Design Engineer with expertise in designing Interior Trims for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Catia V5/V6, and a proven track record of working on New Product Development (NPD) projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, design, and develop automotive interior parts such as Door Trims, Hard Trims, Soft Trims, and Instrument Panels (IP).
- Produce 2D/3D drawings and ensure designs meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design parts in alignment with manufacturing and product requirements.
- Lead or work independently on interior commodity projects, managing the design, development, and testing of parts.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and propose solutions for design issues, ensuring high-quality results.
- Contribute to improving performance and efficiency of existing product designs.
- Adapt to dynamic workstreams and assist in evolving project requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Strong Catia V5/V6 skills (Experience with 3DX is a plus).
- Experience in the design and development of interior parts, specifically related to NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness).
- Hands-on experience in 2D/3D Drawings creation and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Previous involvement in at least 2 NPD (New Product Development) projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with interior commodity management and exposure to automotive part development processes.
