Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will Support Leads a team of Procurement Specialists to execute purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Ensure execution in accordance with company and Procurement team instructions and procedures.

The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power - Critical Power Business to be based at Nelamangala, BANGALORE, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supply Planning & Operations: Oversee site supply planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and S&OP/S&OE processes to ensure demand fulfillment, optimal capacity utilization, and on-time customer deliveries.

• Procurement & Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage procurement activities, negotiate supplier agreements, and ensure alignment with business objectives and company procurement policies.

• Supplier & Inventory Management: Manage inventory optimization, working capital improvements, supplier performance management, supplier development, and risk mitigation by diversifying the supplier base and reducing single-source dependencies.

• Continuous Improvement & Process Excellence: Lead Lean Six Sigma and digital transformation initiatives to improve cost, quality, delivery, lead time, resource utilization, and effective use of SAP Ariba and ERP systems.

• Leadership & Performance Management: Oversee and support the Planning and Procurement teams, review operational and supplier KPIs, handle performance concerns, and promote cross-functional collaboration with courage in pursuit of business goals.

Qualifications for the role:

• Qualification: Diploma with 15+ years of experience or bachelor's degree in engineering with 13+ years of relevant experience.

• Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in the Switchgear or Critical Power (UPS) manufacturing industry.

• Operations & Planning: Extensive experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain management, demand planning, and inventory control.

• Process Excellence: Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives, optimize processes, and improve operational efficiency.

• Leadership Skills: Experience directing teams, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and creating cohesive collaborative teams.

• Lean & Six Sigma: Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with experience in ERP-based planning and forecasting systems.

• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, switchgear products, electrical systems, and operational best practices.
