Job Profile: A Construction Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of materials, equipment, and services for construction projects by developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines and budgets. Key duties include collaborating with project managers, coordinating with design teams, managing risks, and analyzing market trends to optimize cost and quality.
Key responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company and project objectives. Create procurement schedules that synchronize material acquisition with construction timelines. Conduct market analysis and forecast price trends to inform purchasing decisions.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select new and existing suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth communication and partnership. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
Contract & Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contract terms and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure contracts align with legal and company standards and review agreements before execution. Manage and monitor the quality of service provided under existing contracts.
Project Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with project managers to align procurement activities with project schedules and budgets.
Liaise between suppliers and internal teams (e.g., construction, planning, design). Ensure materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time and meet project specifications.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations, safety rules, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate procurement records, generate reports, and track spending and savings.
