Job Description

Position - Procurement & Supply Chain Manager

Location - Port Moresby Papua New Guinea

Contract- Minimum 2 Years Extendable

Experience - 6 to 10 years

Client - a leading construction and facility

management company that specializes in delivering high-quality projects

across the oil and gas residential camps, commercial, residential, and

infrastructure sectors.

As the Purchasing & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for

managing the whole supply chain process from material requisition to the

project site.

Purchasing & Logistics Manager Job Responsibilities:

Develops a purchasing strategy with a focus on schedule, quality and

cost.

Reviews and processes purchase orders.

Manages other members of the purchasing team.

Maintains records of goods ordered and received.

Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.

Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.

Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.

Evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.

Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfilment of orders.

Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.

Coordinates with fellow managers (Admin, Project Managers, Site

Managers) to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.

Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when

they arise.

Keeps up with trends in procurement.

Travels to vendor locations.

Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees

purchase and implementation, as necessary.

Manage inventory as well as warehouse, transportation, and other

logistics processes.

Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.

Ensure that schedule, quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, and

financial commitments are met.

Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues

and opportunities for process improvements. Perform Weekly Reports for internal and external key stakeholders.

Partner and communicate with manufacturers, suppliers, and

customers.

Manage and develop logistics staff.

Create and manage budgets.
