Job Description

As a Cloud Native Developer at ServiceNow, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and maintaining cloud-native applications that are scalable, reliable, and efficient. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, DevOps, and architects, to ensure the successful implementation of cloud-native principles and best practices.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native applications using microservices architecture, containers, and orchestration tools (such as Kubernetes).
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automating application deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize infrastructure for performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers in the team.
  • Implement and integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of applications.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of the company's cloud-native strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud-native technologies and propose innovative solutions to business challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud-native application development and deployment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in cloud-native technologies, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and ability to architect solutions that leverage cloud services.
  • In-depth understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud-native technologies (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
  • Developing data pipelines like Fenix, Kafka, time series database, NoSQL, ELK stack is a plus.
