Job Description

About the role:

Are you ready to be the key leading development engineer of Garment Care Products As a Principal Product Development engineer, you will translate complex consumer/business requirements and beautiful industrial design, into fully verified and validated products for launch, applying your expertise around product system integration, technical and project management knowhow.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Responsible for the design, realization and test of a system, subsystem and component based on the end-to-end approach; understands and communicates consequences of the design on the architecture.
  • Develops the work with focus on consumer needs and technological competitiveness and keeps this outside-in approach in mind for designs he creates.
  • Develops based on design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications and tests, analyses and verifies their performance.
  • Finalizes the system requirements, schematics, drawings, codes and writes test scenarios for the developed modules or components.
  • Draws up overall technical schedule and reports on progress in a structured and methodical way and is responsible for keeping the costs of the activities in line with the calculated budget
  • Is responsible for delivering input in the planning process to the project leader.
  • Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed hardware/software/mechanics
  • Combines existing and/or purchased modules into components, which can be integrated into the subsystem
  • Seeks explanations & solution for the technical problems that arise & takes control w.r.t technical matters in line with project timeline.
  • Contacts with set makers, production centres, etc. regarding problems/wishes/manufacturing problems/ possibilities.

The Skills and Knowledge You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD Degree in Physics / Mechanical Engineering / Product Design/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in product creation and development for mass production
  • Strong interest in product innovation, in particular consumer products eg. consumer electronics products / home appliances. Eager to understand technical fundamentals.
  • Good knowledge in mechanics/heat transfer/flow dynamics and their application. Good knowledge and experience in using engineering plastics & metals and their processing. Good knowledge of systems and their interactions
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Good communication skills with proven success as team/project leader
  • Insight into research methodology, new product conceptualization, applying new technology, product development & introduction
