Introduction: A Career at HARMAN Automotive
We're a global, multi-disciplinary team that's putting the innovative power of technology to work and transforming tomorrow. At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career.
- Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experience
- Combine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellence
- Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoyment
About The Role
In this you will define and lead the overall test strategy, architecture, and automation framework for embedded C++ software powering next-generation automotive audio amplifier systems. This includes ensuring ASPICE-compliant testing processes, optimizing test efficiency through automation, and guiding teams to deliver high-quality audio software that meets stringent automotive standards. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of amplifier applications within the car audio ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Define and drive the overall test strategy (manual and automated) and architecture for embedded C++ software in automotive audio amplifier platforms.
- Establish and maintain ASPICE-compliant testing processes (SWE.4SWE.6), ensuring integration with system engineering and software development workflows.
- Architect and standardize the test framework, tools, and infrastructure across integration and system validation levels.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and verification using ASPICE-compliant methods and tools (e.g., DOORS, DNG).
- Collaborate with system, software, and hardware architects to define end-to-end validation approaches.
- Define the automation strategy, including selection of technologies, scripting languages, and frameworks (e.g., GoogleTest or custom Python/C++ solutions).
- Lead the implementation of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and audio test benches for amplifier and signal chain validation.
- Oversee test data management, metrics, dashboards, and continuous integration pipelines (e.g., Bamboo CI) for automated regression testing.
- Guide teams in test coverage analysis, risk-based testing, and defect prevention techniques.
- Mentor and support test engineers across global teams in applying ASPICE and automotive software quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of test methodologies and contribute to achieving ASPICE Level 2 process compliance.
What You Need To Be Successful
- Over 10 years of experience in embedded software testing, including 35 years in an automotive environment.
- Hands-on experience with audio measurement tools (Audio Precision, MATLAB, LabVIEW) for amplifier validation.
- Proven experience in implementing and auditing ASPICE testing processes (SWE.4SWE.6), ideally contributing to ASPICE Level 2 assessments.
- Strong expertise in test automation, CI/CD integration, and scripting (Python preferred).
- Hands-on experience with HIL systems, test benches, and validation of automotive communication interfaces (CAN, A2B).
- Familiarity with test management and traceability tools such as DOORS, DNG, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of AUTOSAR architectures.
- Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge gaps between development, testing, and process management teams.
- Skilled in articulating technical concepts to geographically distributed teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile-Scrum methodologies.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of ASPICE tool qualification, test process audits, or supplier assessments.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum or Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments for embedded software delivery.
- Deep understanding of embedded C++ software architecture, real-time operating systems, and audio/DSP systems.
- Contributions to process improvement initiatives targeting ASPICE Level 2 or higher.
- Demonstrated ability to define frameworks, mentor teams, and foster a quality-driven culture in cross-functional environments.
- Participation in defining global test architecture roadmaps across multiple product lines.
