About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Assistant HR Manager to manage day-to-day HR operations at our manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate should have experience in manufacturing HR, employee relations, statutory compliance, recruitment, and shop-floor HR practices. The role requires close coordination with production and support functions to ensure smooth people operations and a disciplined, high-performance work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for staff, engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor workforce.
- Coordinate interviews, salary negotiations, onboarding, and joining formalities.
- Build a strong pipeline of manufacturing talent.
HR Operations
- Manage attendance, leave, shift rosters, and payroll inputs.
- Ensure smooth onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, and exit processes.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, Factory Act, PF, ESIC, CLRA, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and audits.
- Maintain statutory registers and compliance documentation.
Employee Relations
- Handle employee grievances and maintain healthy industrial relations.
- Promote discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Conduct employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
Performance & Training
- Support the performance appraisal process.
- Coordinate training programs and maintain training records.
- Identify skill gaps and support employee development initiatives.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Prepare HR MIS, dashboards, and monthly reports.
- Track recruitment, attendance, attrition, manpower, and compliance metrics.
- Support HR automation initiatives and process improvements.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, PPC, Quality, SCM, Maintenance, Finance, and Administration for manpower planning and workforce management.
Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 5–6+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, payroll inputs, and HR operations.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HRMS.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and HR reporting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and interacting with employees at all levels.
