Your role and responsibilities

You oversee Supply Planning, Inventory Management, and Resource Management within the Operation Unit, Smart Buildings, India to enhance planning initiatives that improve timely customer deliveries and lead times, ensuring responsibility for inventory that includes sales exceeding invoicing and alignment with the supply plan, while also being accountable for resource utilization reporting. sales more than invoicing and supply plan adherenceresponsible for reporting resource utilization.

The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification, Smart Buildings Business, Operation Unit to be based at Nelamangala, Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Operations Planning & Scheduling - The site's supply planning process is ensured, aligning capacity with S&OP objectives and providing feedback on the site's ability to meet demand plans.

  • Inventory & Fulfillment Management - Oversee end-to-end inventory control (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), implement optimization initiatives, and manage short-term execution (S&OE) to support profitable order fulfillment.

  • Continuous Improvement & Technology - Coordinate cross-functional improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma, enhance delivery and forecast accuracy, and implement best practices in planning systems and ERP integration.

  • Leadership & Team Development - Manage and develop the local planning team, ensuring effective organizational capability, performance, and engagement in line with business and HR objectives.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

  • Experience - 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in switchgear manufacturing or related electrical industries.

  • Operations & Planning - Skilled at production scheduling, operations planning, supply chain, and inventory control.

  • Process Improvement - Focus on continuous improvement, ensuring process efficiency and resource optimization.

  • Leadership Skills - Effective in team handling, cross-functional coordination, and developing collaborative teams.

  • Lean & Six Sigma Proficiency - Skilled in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process performance, forecast accuracy, and ERP-based planning systems.

  • Industry Exposure - Practical experience in manufacturing environments with a solid understanding of switchgear and electrical system operations.
