Job Description

Role Overview

ACG Sports Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Sports Physiotherapist to join our High Performance Center in Bangalore, supporting the Indian Senior Basketball Teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working with elite or high-performance athletes, with strong expertise in injury prevention, rehabilitation, load management, and return-to-play protocols.

This role requires a proactive, collaborative, and athlete-centered professional dedicated to optimizing player performance, resilience, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Injury Prevention & Management

  • Conduct regular musculoskeletal screenings, assessments, and movement analyses.
  • Develop and implement individualized injury prevention programs.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation for acute and chronic injuries.
  • Deliver on-court medical coverage during training sessions, matches, and tournaments.

2. Rehabilitation & Recovery

  • Design and oversee structured rehabilitation protocols with continuous progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with strength & conditioning coaches, sports scientists, and medical professionals for safe return-to-play.
  • Employ advanced recovery tools and modalities to enhance athlete readiness.

3. Performance Support

  • Integrate physiotherapy strategies within overall performance plans.
  • Track, document, and analyze athlete health, treatment, and recovery data.
  • Contribute to load monitoring and wellness tracking systems.

4. Education & Communication

  • Educate players on best practices for injury prevention, warm-up, and recovery.
  • Maintain transparent communication with coaches and management regarding player status.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the HPC.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy (Sports specialization preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years working with elite/high-performance athletes or teams.
  • Proven expertise in musculoskeletal injury management, functional movement assessment, and sports rehabilitation.
  • Experience in basketball or other fast-paced, high-load sports is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of load management software and athlete monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in taping, manual therapy, and recovery modalities.
  • Strong grasp of biomechanics and sport-specific movement patterns.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to dynamic training and competition environments.
