As a Senior Applications Engineer (Performance Engineering), you will play a critical role in ensuring Oracle Health Sciences applications perform at their peak-delivering seamless, fast, and reliable experiences to users globally. You will dive deep into complex systems, identify bottlenecks across the stack, and design innovative solutions that drive efficiency and scalability. This role requires hands-on expertise in performance testing, SQL tuning, and cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and execute comprehensive performance tests across the full application stack using LoadRunner, JMeter, and Selenium.
Analyze performance metrics using Prometheus, New Relic, and DynaTrace to identify bottlenecks and root causes.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize code, architecture, and database performance for maximum efficiency.
Establish and maintain a proactive performance monitoring framework to anticipate and resolve issues before user impact.
Automate performance testing, monitoring, and reporting, integrating these processes within the CI/CD pipeline.
Translate business requirements and non-functional requirements (NFRs) into performance test strategies, scenarios, and load profiles.
Continuously monitor applications for emerging performance trends, adjusting testing approaches accordingly.
Share best practices and mentor peers to embed performance engineering principles throughout the SDLC.
Communicate complex technical insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & SkillsMandatory:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering / Computer Science (aggregate 60% or above).
4+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or Application Performance Testing.
Hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, Prometheus, DynaTrace, Jenkins, and JProfiler.
Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture, advanced SQL and PL/SQL tuning, and data modeling.
Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture.
Practical experience with performance testing types such as stress, longevity, reliability, and capacity testing.
Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting and performance analysis using AWR/ASH reports, thread dumps, and heap dumps.
Good-to-Have:
Programming experience in Java, C, or Python.
Familiarity with Grafana, Kibana, and other observability tools.
Exposure to REST/SOAP web services, XML, and related technologies.
Experience in DevOps or Agile development environments.
Strong analytical and communication skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
