Overview

The Decision Science team at our client helps operating companies solve their most challenging problems and drive decisions with data. As an Operations & Quality Analyst, you will help oversee the operational processes that support an enterprise data and analytics ecosystem. This role combines data & analytics operations, support management, data quality, observability, and governance to ensure data products and analytical solutions remain reliable, trusted, and effective over time. Working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and analytics teams, you will coordinate support activities, drive issue resolution, monitor operational and data health, and support continuous improvement across the analytics ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central point of coordination for data and analytics support activities, ensuring issues are prioritized, tracked, resolved, and communicated effectively
  • Drive operational discipline through KPI monitoring, SLA management, pipeline oversight, release support, and continuous improvement of support processes
  • Monitor support tickets and data-related incidents, ensuring timely triage, assignment, escalation, and resolution
  • Track operational KPIs, support SLAs, backlog management, service performance, and recurring issue patterns across the analytics ecosystem
  • Monitor production data pipelines and platform health to identify disruptions impacting data delivery, reliability, or business operations
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes by monitoring release health, identifying failures, coordinating remediation, and escalating risks when needed
  • Facilitate clear communication between business users, data engineers, architects, and support teams to keep resolution work moving
  • Document operational procedures, common issues, root causes, and playbooks to reduce repeat incidents and improve support efficiency
  • Develop and maintain monitoring processes that proactively identify data quality issues before they impact business users
  • Define, measure, and report data health metrics including completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, availability, and usability
  • Partner with data architects and engineers to implement automated testing, quality checks, and observability practices throughout the data product lifecycle
  • Analyze quality trends, recurring issues, and operational risks to identify root causes and recommend preventative improvements
  • Support data product governance processes including cataloging, metadata management, ownership tracking, stewardship practices, and documentation standards
  • Maintain data product health scorecards and dashboards measuring quality, availability, usage, operational performance, governance coverage, and business value
  • Ensure key operational, quality, and governance information is documented in enterprise catalogs and knowledge repositories
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce operational risk, and enhance the effectiveness of data and analytics services

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, Business, Data Management, or related field/equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting data, analytics, reporting, business intelligence, data operations, or quality-focused environments
  • Experience managing operational support processes, ticket triage, issue tracking, stakeholder communications, and service reporting
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, dbt, Azure, AWS, or similar analytics technologies
  • Ability to triage data quality issues, delegate solutions to responsible parties, resolve issues, document solutions, and manage customer expectations for when solutions will be implemented
  • Experience administering Jira or developing workflows within Jira
  • Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to work with asynchronous and geographically diverse teams
  • Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across business, data, and technical teams
  • Self-directed and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive issue resolution to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing reports in BI tools (Sigma and/or Tableau preferred)
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, data quality, or operational support tooling
