As part of our growth, we are currently seeking a Proposals Manager to join our office in Gurgaon, India.

Role Summary

The Proposals Manager shall lead the bid delivery process & proposal team in response to clients ITB / RFQ from Initial kick-off to final submission.

Key Responsibilities

  • The person should be willing to be hands-on and involve himself / herself in the proposal making process to ensure timely submission of offers to customers including maintaining all formal correspondence with the Client during the tender Phase/bidding process. The person shall have a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of the proposal process like Incoterms, various international norms in commercial terms and conditions etc.
  • The person should be involved in analysing the technical & commercial aspects of RFQ from customers, detail out the scope, schedule, Quality and cost objectives of the proposal/project and understand the nuances of the enquiry. He / she shall guide the team in India as well as HQ in the process of proposal making, both technically as well as commercially, with an eye to increasing our chances of order winning. The person may also be called upon to help analyse the technical & commercial aspects of the quotes from sub-vendors (wherever applicable) and provide suggestions to the team in India & HQ.
  • He / She shall work in close coordination with Sales team & Technical team in India/HQ and shall be available for techno-commercial discussions with customers.
  • Responsible for setting up processes and systems for proposal making in coordination with HQ and guide and develop the Proposal Engineer(s) in the team in these processes. Should be willing to travel within India to end user locations like refinery etc. whenever needed.
  • In future, the responsibility may also be expanded to cover other regions eventually, like the APAC, Middle East and other end customer regions. The position entails interaction with end user as well as large EPC organizations, operating in India and abroad and also global process Licensors.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 10-15 years of experience in proposal management, bid management, within the oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, fertilizer, LNG, or energy sectors.
  • Experience in preparing and managing technical and commercial proposals for FEED, EPC, EPCM, and technology licensing projects.
  • Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary proposal teams, including Engineering, Procurement, Estimation, Planning, Contracts, and Legal.
  • Experience with process packages, rotating and static equipment, and process technologies.
  • Strong understanding of EPC contracting models, project execution methodologies, and commercial terms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in proposal management, business development, or marketing within the oil and gas industry, with experience in handling process packages and equipment. A portion of this experience should be in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Prior exposure to, and a sound understanding of, fired heaters, incinerators, and other process packages will be considered an advantage. A good understanding of the fundamental processes across the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors is also expected.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of upstream, midstream, and downstream oil & gas processes.
  • Familiarity with refinery, petrochemical, gas processing, hydrogen, ammonia, fertilizer, or energy transition projects (depending on the company's focus).
  • Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, datasheets, and project execution plans.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, IEC, etc.) is desirable
