Why we need this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior NMS/EMS Testing Engineer to lead the type approval testing of our network management solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge in Optical Transport (DWDM/OTN), Ethernet technologies, and IP networking, and will be responsible for ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performance NMS/EMS platforms.
What Will You Do-
Key Accountabilities
Evaluate and Type Approve the NMS/EMS application based on Colt's production requirements.
Design and execute comprehensive test plans for NMS/EMS platforms across Optical, Ethernet, and IP domains.
Validate FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) functionalities.
Perform integration testing with network elements and simulate real-world network scenarios.
Automate test cases using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and tools like Selenium or Robot Framework.
Collaborate with development, Engineering, PLM, and Vendor support teams to track bugs, prioritize fixes, and ensure timely releases.
Analyze logs, SNMP traps, and CLI outputs to troubleshoot and verify system behavior.
Support Operations in production implementation
Mentor junior testers and contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and processes.
What We Are Looking For-
Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience with NMS/EMS platforms and network element simulators.
Strong understanding of Optical technologies (DWDM, OTN), Ethernet protocols, and IP routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS).
Proficiency in SNMP, CLI, Netconf, and REST APIs.
Experience With Test Automation And Scripting (Python Preferred).
Familiarity with network management standards and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in a related field
8-10 years of relevant experience in NMS/EMS Testing
Experience with high-availability systems, distributed architectures, and cloud-based NMS solutions.
