What are Aladdin and Aladdin Engineering
- You will be working on BlackRock's investment operating system called Aladdin. Aladdin is used both internally within BlackRock and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading, and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making and create a connective tissue for thousands of users investing worldwide.

We build and package tools that manage trillions in assets and supports millions of financial instruments. We perform risk calculations and process millions of transactions for thousands of users every day worldwide!

Our Team
Platform Engineering is the backbone for both the client lifecycle and the investment lifecycle. The group's Follow the Sun Model ensures that the firm's operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and regions, helping to deliver a superior client experience and drive scalability. Network Services is driven by a global network of Operating Centers of Excellence, which centralizes knowledge and equips support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal partners and clients.
Network Management is responsible for running the global network and security infrastructure. The team performs multiple operational tasks, projects and engineering aspects in routing, load balancing, monitoring and optimizing the network. Client Last Mile is an intricate part of the Global Network Operations team which participates in the client connectivity projects and provides active support for client related issues. The team is also responsible for automation of client connectivity implementation tasks along with automation of troubleshooting steps.
As a Client Last Mile Engineer, You Will
- Work closely with regional and global teams to provide ongoing support for the global network (on-prem and cloud) infrastructure.
- Be security focused and ensure standard configurations are deployed in the infrastructure. Call out any anomalies and orchestrate efforts to remediate.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to build out client cloud platform connectivity stacks, including firewall policies and network security groups.
- Maintenance and optimization of the global network infrastructure including Firewalls, F5 Load Balancer, Routers/Switches, Proxies, Network Access Control etc.
- Assist in developing solutions and implement changes as necessary.
- Perform network configuration changes in accordance with change management process.
- Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery, crafting preventative measures to deploy in the enterprise.
- Create and maintain network documentation as it relates to network configuration, network diagrams and processes.
- Provide 1st/2nd line technical support & incident management, monitoring for circuits and hardware. Report and track carrier issues, hardware RMA's etc.
- Partner with the rest of the engineering team in the design and implementation of the various client last mile solutions.
- Assist in the vulnerability management process. Identify and remediate TVAS issues.
- Utilize ADO for accurate task tracking and in proactively identifying task conflicts.
- Participate in on-call rotation, shift work and regular weekend work.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability in IT infrastructure engineering/support role and Cloud based technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of network routing, switching and VPN technologies and protocols
- Extensive Experience with various Cisco equipment, including routers (such as ISR 4K, 8000 series routers), switches (such as 6500, 3700, 4500, and Nexus switches) and firewalls (Checkpoint and Cisco).
- Solid understanding of Cisco ASA and Check Point firewalls, NSG/ASG, web proxies, DNS, NAT and F5 load-balancers.
- In depth knowledge of Routing Protocols including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience building Route / Policy based VPN on Cisco routers and ASA. GRE/IPSEC VPN technology.
- Experience in scripting and programming skills (Python, Ansible, Terraform) is desirable
- Must possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and escalate issues optimally.
- Outstanding written, verbal communication, as well as strong customer/client service skills.
- CCNP Cisco certification or equivalent preferred.
- MSFT Azure certification preferred.
- AWS certification preferred
