ROLE OVERVIEW
Rudra Cybersecurity Private Limited (https://rudra.io) is seeking System Administrator & Network Engineers to strengthen internal IT infrastructure and support the specialised networking and cybersecurity needs of our pioneering product - MarineSecure - a networking and security platform designed for the maritime industry.
This role combines core system administration, network engineering and advanced technical support responsibilities. You will also collaborate closely with our development, cybersecurity and maritime communication tech teams to enhance platform reliability and maintain secure, high-performing systems and networks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. L3 Technical Support
- Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support for the company's MarineSecure platform, addressing advanced networking, system and cybersecurity issues.
- Develop and implement solutions for complex technical issues to maintain platform performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level incidents related to networking, server performance and cybersecurity.
- Contribute to platform improvements by collaborating with UI/UX, development and cybersecurity teams.
2. Infrastructure & Network Management
- Administer, configure and maintain servers (Linux & Windows) and cloud environments.
- Manage internal and client network infrastructure - firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems.
- Monitor and optimise system and network performance, ensuring high availability and business continuity.
- Implement system security measures, including patches, updates and security configurations.
- Design and maintain network topologies, including remote access, VLANs and secure tunnels.
3. Documentation & Collaboration
- Document systems configurations, troubleshooting procedures and operational changes.
- Participate in internal cybersecurity projects and platform hardening initiatives as your expertise grows.
- Stay updated on trends in system administration, networking, cybersecurity and the maritime technology space.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of experience in network engineering, system administration and technical support.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, Routing, Switching).
- Hands-on experience with MikroTik routers, Mikrotik RouterOS is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL or similar)
- Familiarity with firewalls functionality and configuration is a must. Experience with IDS/IPS, VPN technologies and endpoint security tools is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms like Proxmox or similar and cloud services (AWS, GCP or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams and work under pressure in time-critical situations.
- Documentation and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MTCNA Mikrotik or CISCO Certification
- Familiarity with the maritime industry and/or satellite connectivity is a plus.
- Basic scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation and system maintenance.
- Interest in cybersecurity and willingness to participate in security projects.
